The European Diversity Charter was initiated in 2004 in order to capture and promote the European Union’s policies against discrimination and supporting equal opportunities. iData Kft. joined the Diversity Convention in 2015, and later the European Diversity Charter, thus we have made our commitment to inclusive, people-centred organisational culture, as well as to equal opportunities, non-discrimination and diversity public.
Our organisation focuses on the values inherent in dissimilarities, diversity. Our everyday workflows are built on the principle of equal treatment, avoiding any form of discrimination. In our diverse and inclusive organisational culture, the work, opinion of each of our employees is valuable. iData Kft. defines its organisational culture along a family atmosphere, a family and employee-friendly attitude, providing equal opportunities and the values inherent in diversity.
We take our social responsibility and raising awareness seriously. As an expression of this, this is the second time we are joining the programme ”Diversity Week” organized by Diversity Charter Hungary. In 2018, we called attention to the importance of diversity, equal opportunities, equal treatment, and acceptance within the framework of the iData Family Sports Day.
We believe that the path to dispel prejudices leads through conversations, meetings, and sensitization. The Family Day has proved to be an excellent opportunity for the message to reach a wider audience. 150 people took part on the event. We celebrated the values inherent in diversity together with our partners, colleagues, and family members. The all-day event took place in a relaxed, merry, playful atmosphere, but still focused on the topic.
Dance of Nations: The diversity of cultures also appears in dancing. A female colleague who is a belly dancer and a male colleague who is a folk dancer provided a very entertaining dance lesson combined with a presentation, during which we were given a glimpse of the basic steps of Arabic belly dancing and Székely Land folk dancing.
The most colourful cookie: Our employees could also demonstrate their diversity in cookie making, as we called for the help of gastronomy as well in the topic of diversity. Enterprising colleagues baked cookies to win the title of “The most colourful cookie”. The sight of the 16 different beautifully coloured, appetizing cookie creations was spectacular.
Joint painting in the topic of diversity: The frame of the celebration was provided by joint painting that was performed as an all-day programme. Participants arrived to the diversity stand continuously, where everyone, young and old could draw on the huge piece of cardboard laid on the ground about what diversity meant to them. The painter Magda Tóthné Szabó assisted in the creation of the works of art. Truly creative self-expressions could be seen. There were some who represented diversity with the character of Pom Pom, as the well-known cartoon character is always changing, capable of shape-shifting, but there were also some who illustrated how diverse our world is with portraits belonging to different ethnic groups. We could see the mandala of acceptance and love, and beautiful coloured flower arrangements, palm prints of different sizes and colours, and wonderful rainbows were also made.
The iData Wheel of Fortune, exciting sports competitions and games awaited the children during the day.
